In the age of social media, even toys for young children are becoming more social—Brooklyn-based Gauri Nanda and Audry Hill have created “Toymail”, a collection of ultra-cute toy animals that let you send messages to and stay connected with the little ones.
Working like digital-age walkie-talkies, these lovable characters—known as “Mailmen”—are smart toys that deliver voice messages from loved ones to kids via a smartphone app.
The children are alerted to a new message by fun animal sounds—for instance, if the Mailman were a pig, it would oink—and they would be able to play back and reply to it with a simple two-button panel at the back of the toy.
In addition to sending personalized voice messages—which could be also be played back in a funny voice—Toymail also delivers songs, jokes, fun facts and inspiring quotes via their Daily Toymailer service, ensuring that the children are entertained throughout the day.
Currently, Toymail comes in five sweet animal forms—it has just started a Kickstarter campaign, so pledge for it if you would like to receive one of these adorable toys at a special price.
