How far would you go to look beautiful? Some people go for beauty treatments, while others choose plastic surgery.
But what about letting live, slimy snails crawl across your face? Would you do it for beauty? Well, there are some people who would.
Apparently, there’s a beauty clinic in Japan that offers ‘snail facials’ to customers.
Called the ‘celeb escargot’ beauty treatment, it involves putting live snails on your face and letting them crawl all over.
It was reported that ‘snail slime’ contains “anti-aging and skin rejuvenation properties” and it was discovered “several decades ago” when the hands of escargot farmers healed “unusually well” after handling snails.
According to a clinic’s spokesperson, “The snails on your face feel a little ticklish at first, but they gradually start to stick onto your skin and after a while, they feel nice and cool on your face.”
Just like most beauty treatments, it doesn’t come cheap—an hour of ‘celeb escargot’ treatment costs a total of US$240.
