In some parts of Asia, the consumption of dogs and cats is still prevalent.

This urged animal rights organization Animals Asia to create a campaign to educate the Chinese public about the brutality and health complications of eating dogs and cats.

In this campaign, a total of 279 new ads were created for China’s subway stations, bus stations and elevators.

The copy reads “Say no to dog or cat meat”, with each ad showing chopsticks placed over a malnourished stray or beloved family pet. These ads either communicate that dog meat comes from stolen pets, or that they might bring about health issues.

One variation says restaurants that sell cat and dog meat often get their meat from stolen domestic animals and strays from the street. Another variation reads, "Don’t pay for this cruel and dirty industry with your own health. Be healthy, say no to dog and cat meat.”
