French artist Benedetto Bufalino has created an amusing installation—titled “La Table de Pique Nique”—that features an over-sized picnic table.
The gigantic piece of furniture was placed in a park and people were invited to sit on and hang out by it—seen from afar, this creates the amusing optical illusion of miniature people on a regular-sized table.
Standing at six and a half feet tall, a grown man is able to stand beneath it in comfort—the artwork actually allows adults to experience what it is like to be kids again.
Located in Square Saint-Exupery in Colomiers, France, this table also shows us how easy it is to manipulate one’s sense of reality and insert a visually interesting element into a mundane setting.
