‘Typefight’ is the brainchild of Drew Roper and Ryan Paule, designers who were bored of their day jobs. Akin to a Fight Club for designers, ‘Typefight’ pits two designers against each other for a week-long font feud—both designers will be assigned a random character to spin their magic on.
From hand-lettering and geometrical patterns to cross-sections and intricate lines, the designers show their clout in a display of brilliant design each week, and the best ‘fighter’ wins the brawl.
Designers from anywhere are qualified to participate, and visitors can vote for their favorite design on the site. So far, ‘Typefight’ has held a total of 76 fights, and past entries can be viewed in the gallery on the website. Screen-printed letters are also available for purchase.
