Artists Aim To Produce 1 Million Original Artworks In Their Lifetimes

Artists Jason McHenry and Christopher Dyer embarked on a wildly ambitious project named “One Thousand Thousand” about 20 years ago, where they aim to produce one million artworks in their lifetimes.

To date, they have completed almost 330,000 “uniformly-sized, original mixed-media works on paper”—the duo has been known to produce hundreds and hundreds of pieces in a single week.

Despite their impressive performance, it still seems very difficult to achieve their goal of one million paintings at their current rate, which is why they have asked other artists to participate in the project—you can find out more about contributing on its website.

If you are interested in acquiring some of these artworks, they are available for sale here.

What do you think—is this just a crazy idea or an inspiring display of artistic dedication?
