In more recent news on the Yahoo! logo controversy, Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer was placed under the gun at a technology conference with the blunt question—“What the **** happened here?”
Mayer was recently appointed president and CEO of the internet giant, and she oversaw the process of the rebranding of Yahoo’s new logo, from the ‘30 Days Of Change’ campaign to the final product.
The new logo has been widely criticized, and Mayer was forced to address the issue at a recent TechCruch technology conference in San Francisco.
Mayer emphasized that the company “didn’t spend millions of dollars doing it”, but “kept it in-house” and “did it in a way that came from a very authentic place”, urging people to focus on Yahoo!’s services instead of its logo.
