Dutch photographers Gerben Grotenhuis and Marc Marselje started a studio—named Ducktape Studios—in what was formerly a bank with joint toilets on the premise.

Over drinks one night, the duo conceived of “Toilet Diaries”, an entertaining project that is set in the toilets of their studio—they wanted to find out what are “the s**t you can do in a toilet”.

Transforming the two small cubicles into elaborate and fantastical sets, they then staged humorous photoshoots that feature themselves in amusing situations.

These photoshoots became increasingly complicated as the project went on—the duo has since turned their toilets into a WWII war zone, a sunny beach, a Viking ship, and even a terrifying zombie apocalypse bathroom.

The “Toilet Diaries” is still on-going and the photographers regularly upload new creations to their Facebook page—check out their website for more of their creative work.
