In Stockholm, Sweden, media company MegaNews has launched a high-tech newsstand kiosk that will print your desired newspaper or magazine on demand.
Equipped with a user-friendly touchscreen and a high-speed Ricoh printer, the MegaNews kiosks allow customers to browse more than 200 titles that have been uploaded by publishers to a remote server.
After a choice has been made, the customer can pay quickly with a credit card and it takes the kiosk just two minutes to print out and deliver the publication.
This innovative newsstand not only benefits publishers, who will no longer have the problem of over-printing an issue, but is also great for the environment as it reduces paper wastage and greenhouse emissions.
The first of these kiosks are already in use in the Swedish capital—with this new technology, you can be sure that your magazine is always freshly printed.
