Artist Brian House documented and recorded the sounds of his whereabouts and travels for a year, and mixed them into a vinyl.
In his vinyl recording, there are markings that state the time of day, location and time of the year.
When placed on a turntable, with the tonearm adjusted to the specific time and place on the vinyl marking, the sounds produced feature the melody of that moment in his life.
His entire year summed up in 11 minutes is “a framework for a set of memories,” House told Fast Co. Design.
“I hear my commute and my travels through a lens of expectation. I love the sound of my trip into the Colorado wildness, in particular. I re-enact that when I listen, and it’s especially meaningful to me now because my patterns have changed drastically since I’ve moved away from NYC,” he added.
