New York-based Graham Douglas is a creative director at Droga5 New York who has been recently known for his work in improving the bone marrow donor registry, instead of making ads.
He created the 'Help! I’ve Cut Myself and I want to Save a Life kit', a bandage pack that contains cotton swabs, plasters and bandages. As you clean up your cut, you can mail the swabs of your blood to the marrow donor registry in the enclosed prepaid envelope.
The kit is easily purchased over the counter and it is a simple process that has enabled three times the number of bone marrow donors than before.
Douglas came up with the idea after his twin brother was diagnosed with Leukaemia and an unknown bone marrow donor saved his life.
This idea has already won a White Pencil at the D&AD Awards, which is awarded to a project that honors exemplary design and creativity for social good.
This project was created in collaboration with Help Remedies and international marrow donor registry, DKMS.
