German car-maker Volkswagen has teamed up with tech giant Apple to create the sleek “iBeetle”, a car with “all the comforts and reliability of the VW fully integrated with a newly designed docking
station and special iPhone application integrated into the dashboard”.
Designed with the iPhone user in mind, the car comes with a special “beetle app” that brings a fantastic array of digital accessories to the iBeetle driver.
The app-enabled functions include Expert (extended dashboard functions on the iPhone), Trainer (driving-related information such as traffic data) and Postcard (communication of current location to friends).
Recently unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show, the iBeetle is the closest thing we have to an Apple automobile right now—Apple fans, wouldn’t you love to give this a spin?
