We have learnt that when it comes to physical features and beauty, women are their own worst critics—they give themselves less credit than they truly deserve.
But what about guys? How would they describe their own physical appearance?
In a video by New Feelings Time that parodies Dove’s recent ‘Real Beauty Sketches’ campaign, it shows how men view themselves (yes, men often over exaggerate their looks), and how others see them.
“My mom said I have the most beautiful teeth,” said one guy, while another described his face as “balanced”, similar to a “white Denzel Washington”.
“Men are not their own worst beauty critics,” wrote the video’s description. “Only 4% of men around the world consider themselves average look. At New Feelings Time, we are committed to creating a world where illegitimate beauty is not a source of confidence. So, we decided to conduct a compelling social experiment that explores how men view their own beauty in contrast to what others see.”
“And don’t forget, men: YOU aren’t as beautiful as you think!”
