Film directors Andy and Lana Wachowski, the sibling team behind ‘The Matrix’ trilogy, have revived the franchise in a new televised commercial.
Created by BBDO New York for General Electric’s ‘Brilliant Machines’ campaign, the 30-second spot features actor Hugo Weaving making his return as antagonist ‘Agent Smith’.
In the video, Smith walks through a fictional hospital, explaining to viewers how GE’s data and hardware helps improve patient care in hospitals.
According to GE, this is the first time that the Wachowski siblings have licensed out ‘The Matrix’ for advertising.
The commercial even features a few prominent references from the franchise.
