Los Angeles-based free-diver and model Linden Wolbert is a “full-time professional mermaid”—this means that she can swim to a depth of 115-feet and stay underwater for up to an incredible five minutes.

To complete the transformation from human being to mermaid, Wolbert also swims with a 35-pound, 6-foot-long hydro-dynamic tail that is the masterpiece of Hollywood special effects artist Allan Holt—it took seven months and about £10,000 to construct.

This “water baby”, who feels “a magnetism to the water”, has used her skills to swim among wonderful underwater wildlife, including whale sharks in the ocean and countless jellyfish in a 12,000 year old lake.

The 32-year-old beauty promotes ocean conservation and education by offering her mermaid services to various charities and non-profit organizations—she has also been hired for Hollywood parties that were hosted by celebrities like Justin Timberlake and Jessica Alba.

Scroll down to view beautiful underwater pictures of this ‘real-life mermaid’, who shows little girls from all over the world that they too can be mermaids when they grow up, if they want to.
