Famous French designer Philippe Starck has created a collection of stylish, minimalist indoor and outdoor furniture for Italian furniture company Kartell.
Inspired by the cushy armchairs and sofas that his aunts and uncles used to sit on during family gatherings, Starck’s “Aunts and Uncles” collection consists of five designs—“Uncle Jack” Sofa, “Uncle Jim” Armchair, “Uncle Jo” Chair, “Aunt Jamy” Dining Table and “Aunt Maggy” Console.
These pieces are made of transparent polycarbonate using the injection molding technology—the “Uncle Jack” Sofa is the largest piece of furniture ever produced with such a method.
