Retailer Hammacher Schlemmer has unveiled a camera by Polaroid that colors retro old school nostalgia with modern digital technology.
The ‘14 MP Digital Polaroid Camera’ lets users shoot and print color photos—of which, users can crop, edit and view on a 2.7-inch LCD screen before printing.
Polaroid’s new camera prints 3" x 4" color snapshots with a familiar white border, reminiscent of its instant films—users can also customize their own border.
According to Hammacher Schlemmer, “the prints are smudge- and tear-proof, fade- and water-resistant”, as it uses patented paper embedded with colored dye crystals.
If that’s not impressive enough, the instant camera also has a 4X optical zoom, shoots video with audio and saves files to an SD memory card.
The rechargeable lithium-ion battery prints up to 25-photos per charge, and takes two hours to recharge.
14 MP Digital Polaroid Camera retails at US$300.
