California-based special effects studio Stan Winston Studios, noted for its work in the 1993 film Jurassic Park, has released footage from its archive that explains how they created the T-Rex.
In the days before computer-aided design became popular, Jurassic Park’s scary T-Rex was constructed out of steel and hydraulics. Out of the 14 minutes of dinosaur footage in the movie, only four were entirely computer generated.
These archive videos are on YouTube in three parts, reminiscing the 20-year-old movie franchise.
