Australia-based architect Tony Hobba of Tony Hobba Architects has designed a coffee kiosk in the surfing town of Torquay in Melbourne, Australia, to resemble a rusty surf shack.
The Third Wave Kiosk was designed on a tight budget, and Hobba made use of recycled sheet piles to create a wave-like sculptural envelope around a standard concrete block building, referencing the location of the kiosk.
The Third Wave Kiosk is situated atop a cliff facing the ocean, and is now a staple landmark for the town of Torquay.
