Japanese electronic products manufacturer Sharp Corporation has unveiled a new ceiling light that can help you focus while working, according to RocketNews24.

The ‘Sakura Iro’—or cherry blossom-colored light—is said to be able to inspire productivity.

The pink-toned illumination it sends out turns a room into a warm, inviting environment that—the company claims—can help those in the room be more motivated and focused while working or studying.

Sakura Iro also changes its shade throughout the day—“harsher pink in the morning, when we first get up, moving though to a warmer, more comforting ‘Yoshino cherry tree’ shade towards dinner time”, according to RocketNews24.

Sharp’s light is also said to be kinder to tired eyes, and eases the awake-to-sleep transition.

The ceiling light retails from ¥40,000 (US$432), depending on its size, and will go on sale from mid-March.

We’re not too sure what research Sharp bases these facts on, but do you think pretty pink lights really are better?
