Before he heads out to party, New York-based photographer Ryan Burke spends three to eight hours creating a stunning look for himself.
Using fake eyelashes, feathers, and face paint, he completes the look and uploads these “selfies” onto Facebook and Tumblr.
It is apparent that the photographer is influenced by many pop culture icons, although he states that he never plans his looks and lets them evolve organically.
His aesthetic sense is derived from “abstraction, geometry, androgyny and sophistication”, admitting that his friends who work in fashion do inspire him as well.
His roommate, Domonique Echeverri, also helps him brainstorm for his looks to create something distinct and unique.
Burke stated that he did this to document his life, allowing this form of expression to connect with both friends and strangers.
