Liverpool-based artist Carne Griffiths, who we have previously featured last year, has produced a new collection of his beautiful portraits that are made with ink, tea and alcoholic drinks like vodka, brandy and gin.
Featuring ethereal, fairy-like girls whose faces are framed by abstract illustrations of flowers and plants, these artfully messy paintings are made up of both purposeful brush strokes and accidental-looking splashes and drips.
Made for a show at the Above Second Gallery in Hong Kong, this new series is inspired by “what connects us to nature as well as to one another”.
