Have you noticed how so many portraits of designers show them touching their faces? San Francisco-based designer Nick Foster certainly did—he even went a step further by setting up a blog dedicated to such pictures.
Simply named “Designers Touching Their Faces”, this tongue-in-cheek Tumblr blog makes fun of this strange trend that somehow features very heavily in photographs of designers.
From Marc Newson and Jony Ive to Tom Ford, the pose is struck by a surprisingly diverse mix of designers—according to Foster, “if you’re a designer, you ain’t s**t if you don’t touch your face in photographs”.
