As homage to “the creative, but banal themes of spam”, artist Adam Harvey digitally combined and layered the titles and image content of thousands of spam emails to form mosaics, which he calls ‘Spam Art’.
For this series titled ‘Save As’, which was made during 2001 to 2005, Harvey collected thousands of profane and bizarre spam emails for his work.
The final, smutty images are obscured by the layers of text, creating ‘censored’ figures that appear to be on the verge of explosion.
