The state of New York has incorporated “Texting Zones” into its highways and roads.

Unveiled by Governor Andrew Cuomo on Monday, this was done to prevent drivers from texting while they were at the wheel.

Many signs at rest stops were changed by officials to show that they are “Texting Zones”—one of the signs reads, “It can wait—Text Stop, 5 miles”.

There are 298 signs along these highways to show drivers that they can text safely and legally in these 91 zones.

While some think the campaign is helpful, it also has its fair share of detractors.

What do you think—is this a good way of keeping drivers safe?
