After its founder Lance Armstrong’s doping scandal, the Livestrong Foundation unveiled a new logo to help the charity organization gain continuous support.

The updated logo focuses on the “Foundation” rather than the disgraced cyclist, Armstrong—and follows a change in the organization’s legal name.

“The change is subtle but it is substantive. The positioning of the bars suggests forward and dynamic movement,” Exec VP-Operations, Andy Miller, said in a statement.

“Thousands of people and many critical programs are the ‘Foundation’ beneath that ethos. We believe that while changing our mark is a small act, it’s a natural step in our evolution and a step towards becoming more us, more clear and doing more work.”

Initially, the charity—that aims to provide free cancer support for those battling the illness—was tied to Armstrong’s story.

Miller also mentioned that Livestrong Foundation remains separate from the founder.

“We didn’t do it for Lance. We did it for our loved ones. Our husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters. We did for our children. We did it for our friends and neighbors. We did it for ourselves,” he added.

“Will the Livestrong Foundation survive? Yes. Absolutely, yes.”

What do you think—does the new logo separate the foundation from its founder?
