Ever visualized your favorite ‘Star Trek’ episodes as Saul Bass-like movie posters? One artist has done just that.
‘Star Trek: The Art of Juan Ortiz’ is an amazing retro book that imagines all 80 episodes as movie posters.
Gorgeously designed and ravishingly detailed, the artworks channel the style and aesthetic of the ’60s and ’70s, and are influenced by the show’s plot lines as well as the messy political climate of those years.
Nuanced with meaning and philosophy, one poster depicts Spock with the questioning headline ‘Is There In Truth No Beauty?’, while another features a woman’s face with a single tear rolling down her cheek, mirroring the themes of their respective episodes.
Through these images, Ortiz pays tribute to the chaotic times he grew up in and the iconic television series that helped him get through them.
The book is currently available on Amazon.
