Japanese sound artist and designer Yuri Suzuki’s project ‘Looks Like Music’ brings music to life through little robots that respond to colored scribbles on black lines drawn on paper.

Called ‘Color Chasers’, the robots come in different shapes and are programmed to translate the colors into sounds like drums, deep bass, chords and melody.

Being dyslexic, Suzuki cannot read music scores and was inspired to come up with new ways of reading and playing music.

The installation was hosted by Luxembourg’s Mudam museum last month and visitors were encouraged to create their own compositions, making for hours of interactive fun.
