The Avengers, Penguin, The Joker, Harley Quinn, Hell Boy and other comic book characters received a fantastic makeover by North Carolina-based artist, Jon Little.
In his ‘Hero Series’, he paints the faces of comic book heroes and villains in traditional Chinese Opera-inspired makeup.
The painting process involves sketching out the normal faces of the characters, painting in the artfully designed background, and the final step of filling in the elaborate ‘makeup’.
He photographs his process on his Facebook page, where he also accepts requests for new painting ideas.
