Some photographers will go to great lengths to capture the perfect shot, but for architecture photographer Carlos Ayesta, he risked his own life to capture these incredible photos.
Strapped to a harness, he rappels down the sides of skyscrapers and dangles himself in mid-air to capture unusual and unseen perspectives of cities and buildings.
“My approach of taking photographs [while] abseiling and from hanging platforms show the architecture in another dimension,” Ayesta told Dezeen. “I can take pictures of hidden things. No one on the ground or on top of the buildings can see what I see.”
“I take pictures of towers, offices and homes, and I am able to capture the people working and living within those spaces,” he added. “The window reflections are magical—you can see life and the landscapes within the same frame.”
Ayesta was also responsible for these haunting photos of Fukushima.
