Hamburg, Germany-based photographer Ralph Hargarten has left out the silly costumes but still managed to capture uncannily human-like expressions on his canine subjects in the new series ‘A Dog’s Life’.
Photographed against a stark black background, the dogs’ thoughts and personalities appear to shine through in Hargarten’s pictures—from boredom to surprise, the dogs displayed a myriad of human emotions that you wouldn’t have expected to find on their faces.
