In China, It’s Trendy To Share Awkward Childhood Photos On Social Media

Chinese netizens have been sharing their embarrassing childhood photos over popular social networking site, Sina Weibo.

Filed under a tag which roughly translates to “showing off embarrassing childhood photos”, these pictures from the ‘80s and ‘90s show children dressed as characters from Chinese folklore or wearing historical costumes.

In many of these photos, these little tykes have red dots on their foreheads, which usually signify beauty or good luck, though it may not always be the case.
