Do you remember this smartphone film scanner that digitalizes analog photographs? Now, there is a device that does just the reverse—Enfojer turns the digital snapshots on your smartphone into black-and-white photo prints in just six minutes.

Created by four Croatian photography enthusiasts, this innovative device is a photo enlarger that translates your digital pictures into tangible physical prints—the difference between this new product and photo services that print out your digital photos for you is that the Enfojer lets you go through the romantic and almost-forgotten process of developing photos in a darkroom.

Using the LED screen on the smartphone to expose the photographic paper, the prints produced have a deliberate blurry quality so that they do not appear pixelated or sterile.

Capable of creating prints from both digital images from any smartphone and film up to 6x6 format, the size of the resulting photographs can be as large as 20x20cm—the creators of Enjofer have limited it to creating black-and-white prints in order to keep the process simple and toxic-free.

The other items included in the Enjofer kits are usual darkroom equipments, such as a developing tray, photographic paper and a red LED light—users would still have to buy some chemicals themselves as shipping liquids internationally can be a hassle.

This portable darkroom is currently sourcing for funds on Indiegogo—you can pledge for it here.
