
Chinese student Wang Yue has been brightening up the city of Shijiazhuang, China, with her whimsical tree-hole paintings of cute animals and pretty landscapes.
Using the little holes on tree trunks as her canvas, the artist has decorated over 11 tree holes to date.
Some of these paintings show adorable little creatures—such as puppies, squirrels and raccoons—peeking out of the holes, while others look like escape portals to beautiful places in nature.
The project has been approved by the city’s environmental protection bureau, which states that the paint used will not harm the trees and will wash away over time.
