Incredibly Narrow, Futuristic Homes Built In The Gaps Between Buildings

If you thought that these narrow houses that we featured previously are as thin as human dwellings can ever get, it is time to think again.

Architects Mateusz Mastalski and Ole Robin Storjohann have created a concept for a futuristic home that is designed to slot into the gaps between building, so as to utilize these previously unoccupied pockets of urban space.

Amazingly, this award-winning design concept—aptly named “Live Between Buildings!”—can be configured into a great number of unconventional shapes, including that of a space invader from a retro video game.

The “walls” of these micro-homes are made of Fakro windows, which are used in see see-through skylights and roofs—however, the creators of the project have not specified how the windows are to be linked together or even where the entrances are to be.

This is an innovative idea that aims to combat the problem of over-crowding in urban areas, but we do wonder how comfortable it will be to live in a space that is just a few feet wide.
