‘Fur is Alive’ is a trio series of jewelry created by designer Cecilia Valentine.
The collection aims to give passive materials ‘life’, by combining them with living things—the jewelry pieces let you contain small animals and plants within them.
Literally ‘capturing’ the beauty of nature—and subtly laced with a commentary on the fur industry—Valentine’s accessories are wearable cages that can hold tiny birds and rodents, and can be decorated with branches of flowers and leaves, allowing the wearer to make it unique and different each time.
“In addition, living material continuously fixes and refreshes itself, so you will always have a fresh coat of fur or new feathers to wear,” Valentine wrote.
