Swiss music and art label Cod.Act—comprising of André and Michel Décosterd—has created the ‘Pendulum Choir’, an amazing nine-man choir that swings and leans from side to side like a pendulum as they sing.
André and Michel Décosterd are plasticians, musicians and engineers, and have created a special device to make such a choir possible—each member of the choir is attached to a hydraulic jack that reacts to their voices.
This causes them to swing and rotate, often coming close to knocking into each other but never actually colliding.
The result is this zany and hilarious choir that is full of surprises, which transforms sound into physical movements.
