Jerry Patrick from Newnan, Georgia, has an interesting hobby—he builds replicas of famous cars from film and TV, including the ‘Batmobile’, ‘Mystery Machine’, ‘Herbie the Love Bug’ and ‘KITT’ from ‘Knightrider’.

Patrick’s recreation of the ‘Batmobile’ took him three years to build and even includes machine guns (though they don’t fire real bullets). The ‘Batmobile’ also shoots fire and smoke out the back!

Almost everything in the car was custom made. “It's hard to go to Walmart and buy parts for the Batmobile,” Patrick said. “So you end up making everything for it.”

Patrick has also built replicas of ‘Mater’ from ‘Cars’, and ‘Eleanor’ from ‘Gone in 60 Seconds’. He is currently working on ‘Bumblebee’ from ‘Transformers, and the ‘A-Team’ van.

Although Patrick does some custom work for clients, he mostly builds cars for fun. He often shows off his creations at community events and “loves the reaction from kids and kids-at-heart when they see or even climb inside one of his creations.”
