NASA Invented ‘Zero Gravity Coffee Cup’ For Astronauts In Space

You may think that being an astronaut is cool, but daily life on the space station is actually fraught with inconvenience—for instance, something as simple as drinking coffee can be a huge hassle because there is no gravity.

Previously, astronauts have to shake coffee out of their cups and try to catch the hot globs with their mouths, a time-consuming and not particularly relaxing way to enjoy a cuppa.

To solve this problem, NASA physicists have invented a Zero Gravity Coffee Cup to let astronauts drink coffee more easily in space—by using capillary forces, the cup is able to direct coffee to the drinker’s mouth normally.
