
After Paris unveiled its Eiffel Tower in 1889, Londoners decided to step up by coming up with their very own tower.
A public design competition commenced and 68 designs made the showcase catalog.
While some designs look like copies of the iconic Paris structure, others are wildly imaginative but impractical.
Although these sketches belong to the past, there are still some design cues we can take from them.
