Hong Kong-based creative studio Little Factory has created a striking scarf that is made with letters from the popular Helvetica typeface.
Influenced by traditional Chinese paper-cutting techniques and modern type design, the Helvetica Scarf is made by arranging random letters in an interlocking pattern, which is then laser-cut into a piece of micro-fiber suede material.
“We think Helvetica represents the attitude of modern and simple. Indeed, it is one of the most widely used typefaces. And we like the way that the neutrality of Helvetica enables us to focus on the design as a whole.”
These typographic scarves are also available in uppercase, lowercase and numerals, using an unknown typeface—the same technique have been applied to these letters coasters and numbers placemats.
