Art and design blog “The Fox Is Black” recently highlighted a delightful design magazine for children—titled Anorak, “the happy mag for kids”—found at the Tate Modern Museum’s design shop.
Founded by Cathy Olmedillas, this fun publication is made for 6 to 12-year-olds—however, its beautifully illustrated and engaging content of games, cartoon and stories will probably appeal to adults as well.
Printed on recycled paper with vegetable ink, Anorak is a great print alternative to the plethora of iPad apps aimed at children, and teaches kids who have not lived in a pre-internet world “the value of the printed word and the joy of tactile illustration”.
The team behind Anorak has also created a lively TV show, the HAPPY TV series, which you can download from the iTunes store—watch the video below for a sneak peek.
You can also pick up a subscription for Anorak over here.
