The Palaon Research and Experience Center may appear to be almost invisible as its faceted exterior reflects the environment around it.
Designed by Zurich- and Berlin-based firm Holzer Kobler Architekturen, this research center is located in Shoningen, Germany, where 300,000-year-old spears and weapons of humanity’s ancestors were found.
While used for research, this building also houses coal mines, an exhibition space, shops and a restaurant.
As the visitor walks through all of these spaces, he ascends the building and comes to the top where he can view the excavation taking place.
