To celebrate the 50th birthday of the World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF), ad agency BBDO Düsseldorf decided to ‘stage a protest’ against rainforest deforestation with the help of thousands of leafcutter ants.
In the campaign called ‘Ant Rally’, the ants were given pieces of leaf signs with laser-cut slogans such as “Save Trees!”, “Ban The Saw!”, and “Fight”.
In the five day long ‘protest’, the leafcutter ants ‘marched’ around in a terrarium—calling for support to protect the rainforest, their natural habitat.
