New York City Couple Goes To Every Subway Station In Manhattan To Take 'Selfies'

New York-based students James Doernberg and Kai Jordan travelled to all 118 subway stations in Manhattan in the same day, in a simple mission to take a photograph of themselves at every single station.

In total, the pair travelled for 9 hours on one fine Wednesday in order to take ‘selfies’. They would hop off the train at every stop, find a sign to take a photo, and get back on the train before the doors closed.

The quest was just a way they wanted to make commuting fun, or have different records and accomplishments they could hold while they were in NYC.

Their biggest takeaway from this experiment—other than the record that they now hold—is that have started to notice and appreciate the station decorations, artwork and color schemes.

According to the New York MTA’s website, there are actually 143 stations in Manhattan. However, counting each station complex as one gives the total number of stations to be 118.
