UK-based distance learning and research facility, The Open University, has come up with an online video series explaining the American industrial design movement.

In a two-minute video posted on YouTube, one can get a quick walkthrough of the years post-Depression and how industrial design created more desire to buy products.

Introducing famous personalities in the industrial design movement—from Norman Bel Geddes (who framed industrialization as utilitarian art), Raymond Loewy, Ray and Charles Eames, and so on—this short video gives one a great sense of how the industrial design movement began.
