Designed by UK architecture firm Atkins, ‘The Songjiang Hotel’ is currently being built in Shanghai, China.
Embedded in an abandoned quarry, this 19-story hotel will also have two underwater levels which will house a restaurant and an aquarium alongside it.
Adventurers can also opt to bungee jump or rock climb at the extreme sports center.
Furnished with 400 rooms, the hotel will use geothermal technology to generate electricity, and foliage to help cover the roof of the hotel in the quarry.
After its completion in 2015, guests will also be able to view a waterfall cascading down the quarry’s edge.
