San Francisco-based photographer Elizabeth Moran brings us into the world where X-rated adult films are made.
Her ongoing photography series ‘The Armory’ documents the ever-changing sets of pornography company Kink.com—which gives viewers an interesting yet ironic look at the seemingly ordinary mise en scènes, that challenge their views on space and context.
“Private spaces are constructed for a public gaze and appear both familiar and strangely foreign. Devoid of people, the spaces allude to an activity, but leave the viewer to imagine the scene,” Moran wrote.
“Pornography reflects an amalgamation of our desires, yet its prevalence also affects real-world sexual habits creating a feedback loop of the fabricated becoming the real while the real becomes fabricated.”
