To promote its ‘Cidre’ brand, Stella Artois has teamed up with communication agencies Liveposter and Posterscope to roll out a real-time, location-based campaign that is able to sense the weather.
They created a “bespoke scheduling system which, through the use of a real-time weather data plug-in” automatically controls the advertisements on digital display spots around the UK.
The digital displays will depict an ad showing a chilled Stella Artois ‘Cidre’ when the temperature is two degrees or more above the national average, taking advantage of the warm weather and people’s tendencies to buy a cool drink on impulse.
The system does not display the advertisement in locations that are colder or raining.
