To celebrate Refugee Week (17 - 23 June), the British Red Cross teamed up with street artist Marcus Crocker to highlight the positive contributions made by some famous refugees to British culture and history.

Crocker created miniature sculptures of artist Lucien Freud, singer Freddie Mercury, architect Lord Richard Rogers, the first Governor of the Bank of England, Sir John Houblon, Syrian refugees, and Red Cross workers.

Crocker said, “I like to focus on people who may be isolated by society or who have seemingly fallen through the cracks and been forgotten: using the scale of the models to show how these individuals can be overlooked. I hope the figurines I have created for the Red Cross will encourage people to think differently about refugees.”

The sculptures will be placed in front of iconic locations in London, where the public will be able to find them.
